Katherine B. Santosa, MD, MS, is a female plastic surgeon who sees patients at the Center for Plastic Surgery at MetroDerm on Johnson Ferry Road in Sandy Springs, GA, and the MetroDerm office on Howell Mill Road in Buckhead, GA.
Dr. Santosa was born and raised in New York City. She attended the Bollettieri Tennis Academy at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida, before graduating summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis. She then pursued her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine, where she was awarded merit-based scholarships.
After medical school, she completed her plastic surgery training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious plastic surgery residency programs in the country. During her residency, she received a postdoctoral research fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine, where she was awarded numerous research grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Plastic Surgery Foundation, in addition to earning a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation.
Following her research fellowship and plastic surgery training, Dr. Santosa moved to Atlanta to complete an Aesthetic Society-endorsed fellowship at the Center for Plastic Surgery at MetroDerm under the leadership of Dr. Foad Nahai and Dr. Farzad R. Nahai. During this year of advanced training, she learned surgical approaches and techniques to refine her craft as an aesthetic plastic surgeon specializing in the face, breast, and body. In addition, she had the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Diamondis J. Papadopoulos and Dr. Amy Kim, learning how to optimally care for patients undergoing Mohs surgery and reconstruction.
Dr. Santosa has more than 60 publication credits in plastic surgery and has received multiple awards and grants for her contributions to the field of plastic surgery. She is dedicated to driving innovation and, ultimately, improving results of patients undergoing different types of plastic surgery.
